Choosing a New Planter – What to Consider
In a brief general blog of this nature, we wouldn’t presume to give you specific advice about how to select a new planter.
Clearly we would need to sit down and talk to you about your particular requirements and your particular operating environment.
1. What sort of crops are you talking about because some planters may be rather better suited to some types than others
2. Things such as depth, spacing and planting pressures are all important in terms of considering options.
3. It’s important to select a planter that also has a good closing system for all the obvious reasons.
4. Some may be rather better for some types of soil and landscapes than others.
This, of course, is only scratching the surface. We haven’t even started talking about planter sizes and seed delivery systems etc.
Just like when you are approaching the purchase of any other piece of agricultural equipment, it’s a good idea to sit down and talk with an expert about what options might be the best for you and of course your wallet.
That’s a service and approach we specialise in here at White’s Tractors. Our first approach is always to understand what you are trying to achieve, the things that are in your favour plus the challenges you need to overcome.
We never set out from the outset with the intention of selling you our pre-conceived idea of what the right solution is for you based upon what we normally sell.
We’ve built our long-established reputation in Goulburn based upon helping our clients to find solutions - not on selling as much equipment as we can.
So, if you are looking for a new planter, call in and see us for a discussion. We’re waiting to help.
