2015 – Looking Ahead for Farmers
We’d like to take this opportunity to wish all of those of you we haven’t spoken to recently, a very happy and prosperous New Year.
What do we at White’s Tractors see as the big issues for Australia and Australian farming in 2015?
That veritable organisation, the OECD, is reasonably optimistic about the overall economic forecast for Australia. In pretty much all sectors they appear to see positive signs, though they remain a little sceptical about the prospects for a rapid fall in unemployment.
It’s also interesting to see that the meteorologists are forecasting a very good to possibly bumper cropping year for our farming sector 2015. There are all sorts of scientific reasons put forward for this, including variations in the El-Niño winds and something called the ‘Southern Oscillation Factor’. It all seems to be good news even if it’s rather horrifically complex for non-meteorologists to try and understand.
Some cynics might also point out that meteorologists aren’t always right!
Depending upon where you are in Australia, 2014 wasn’t a great year for farming weather but it wasn’t a disaster either and on the whole the indications seem positive for this year’s cropping and planting seasons.
In terms of ourselves at White’s Tractors, we will be continuing to try and give our customers the best advice we can and drive them some great deals out on things like Kubota Tractors.
One other thing that hasn’t changed is the pleasure we take in talking to our customers and potential customers. We’d welcome the chance to see you or chat on the telephone about some of our great offers coming up in the year ahead and how they just might benefit you and your garden or farm.
This is a time of year for both making and breaking New Year’s resolutions but make one of yours to be a visit to our premises in Goulburn to check out some of our great equipment and parts.
Look forward to seeing you!
